Introducing our leadership team at Highway
We have a Pastor and team of Elders, all of whom are appointed by the members of Highway Church. The team look after and oversee all aspects of church life, developments and activities.

SIMON CLINTON
God put in Simon’s heart the desire to make a difference in the London borough of Newham back in 1987 and when Simon became the Pastor of Highway church in October 2002 it became a reality! After obtaining a Bachelor of Divinity, Simon had worked for a few years with Epping Forest Youth for Christ on the detached youth work team, before becoming an assistant pastor of Vineyard Church in Loughton, where he served for eleven years. Simon is a trustee of the Transform Newham team (an initiative involving numerous churches of differing denominations form across the London borough of Newham), also works with a prison chaplaincy team and is involved with the London Global day of prayer. Simon is married to Claire and has two sons, Joseph and Jonathan. He loves cricket and walking his dogs.
DAVE CRISP
Dave is an Elder at Highway and has been part of the Church for the last two years, having moved to London from sunny Somerset. He is currently the co-ordinator for Newham Street Pastors, a Christian ministry reaching those on the streets through patrols in Stratford centre on Friday nights between 10pm and 4am.
For the last seven years, Dave worked with young people with challenging behaviour in residential care homes. He oversees the children and youth work at Highway, with a passion to see children and young people in the Church and community touched with the life changing message of the Gospel.
He has also spent the past 15 years travelling and evangelising in other countries, having lived and ministered in Pakistan for a number of years, more recently doing short term missions and Church planting in Rwanda and Uganda. Dave is also responsible for overseeing missions and outreach at Highway, as well as running ‘Harvest Time Missions International’ a Christian evangelistic ministry.
He enjoys running, fishing (when possible), walking and curries!

WILLIAM FERGUS
William is married to Minerva (aka Minnie) and has two children, Ebony and Liam. He was born in Montserrat in the West Indies but his family moved to England when he was nine months old. Since then he has lived in the East End of London, growing up in Hackney and moving to Stratford around twenty-five years ago. William is a long serving Civil Servant, currently working for the Revenue and Customs Prosecutions Office. He has been a Christian for almost twenty years and has been involved in children’s and men’s ministry. He felt the need to attend a local church so that he could be involved in ministry in his community and he joined Highway in 2003. As an Elder his heart is to encourage men to reach their full potential as Christians and to help them grow in their faith. In his spare time William enjoys keeping fit, loves music and likes to travel.

KEITH DIXON Keith grew up in Hartlepool in the North-East of England and became a Christian when he was 16. Having met his future wife Anne he moved to the East End of London in 1981 where they were active in a local Newham church for twenty years. Keith was involved with the youth work, running the PA team, being part of the church leader’s support team and supporting a borough-wide youth worker. For seven years he worked full time for the Wavelength Trust Charity with the brief ‘to promote and encourage the Christian faith’. The work was primarily with young people through working nationally in schools, churches, prisons etc and as part of various missions. Keith and Anne officially joined Highway in 2006. He hopes to bring his practical and organisational skills to the Eldership team as Highway grows and develops. Keith loves music and in his spare time he runs a small independent Christian
based record label called Plankton Records
